Demy's contribution to the omnibus film THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS (which also included segments by Godard and Chabrol) is characteristically oriented towards childhood memories of Nantes, specifically the market where Demy and his friends gathered to smoke. Through a series of free associations, Demy is led from that insignificant sin to the baroque visions of hell in Bosch's painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights.” The cast includes a young Jean-Louis Trintignant.
