- Critical Note: “Booze tends to figure prominently in the iconoclastic Korean director’s six features since 1996, all of which screen this week in the latest installment of Cinematheque Ontario’s Film Now series. Though it has rightly feted such emergent auteurs as Jia Zhang-ke and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the series has been sadly lacking in scenes of binge drinking, alleyway vomiting, fumbling sexual encounters and bar fights. This retrospective corrects that.” - Jason Anderson, Eye Weekly, Thursday, February 16, 2006.

- Critical Note: “As the Peckinpah retrospective kicking off at Cinematheque Ontario in Toronto this week demonstrates, behind the veil of gunsmoke lies a body of work that places the filmmaker beside Bob Dylan, Norman Mailer and Arthur Miller as one of the most significant American artists of the last 60 years.” - Joel McConvey, National Post, Friday, March 17, 2006
